Connect Zerodha to Āagman
Link your Zerodha trading account to Āagman so you can place and manage live orders by prompt.
Connecting a broker is only required to place and manage live orders from Āagman. Backtesting, screening, charts, and options analysis all work without a broker connection.
Setup has two parts — linking your Zerodha account through Kite Connect, then pairing the Āagman Relay so orders can be routed to the broker through your local machine.
Prerequisites
A few things you'll want on hand before you start.
An active trading account with Zerodha — your Client Code starts with two letters.
A one-time signup at developers.kite.trade to issue API credentials.
The Āagman Relay ships as a Chrome extension. Chromium-based browsers (Brave, Arc) also work.
If you're new, sign up at app.aagman.ai — takes about a minute.
How do I connect my Zerodha account?
Log in to Kite from Āagman, authorize the connection, and verify that your account appears in the broker panel.
Āagman talks to Zerodha through Zerodha's official Kite Connect API. You'll create a personal API app on the Kite Connect developer portal, then plug those credentials into Āagman.
Create an API app on Kite Connect
- Sign in to the Kite Connect developer portal at
developers.kite.trade. - Click Create a new app.
- For Type, choose Personal. Do not pick Connect — the Personal type is what Āagman expects for an individual trading account.
- Fill in the app details:
- App name — anything you'll recognize (e.g.
Āagman). - Redirect URL — open Āagman in another tab, go to Settings→Broker Account, and your redirect URL is listed there. Copy it and paste it in exactly as shown.
- Description, icon, postback URL — fill in as Zerodha requires; they're straightforward.
- App name — anything you'll recognize (e.g.
- Submit the form and complete payment if Zerodha prompts. Zerodha will then issue your API Key and API Secret.
Keep the Kite Connect portal tab open — you'll need to paste the API Key and API Secret into Āagman in the next step.
Add your credentials to Āagman
In Āagman, go to Settings→Broker Account→Zerodha and enter the following:
- API Key — from your Kite Connect app.
- API Secret — from your Kite Connect app.
- Client Code — your Zerodha trading account client ID (e.g.
AB1234). - Account Label — any label that helps you identify this account (e.g.
Primary,Spouse account,Algo testing). For your reference only; doesn't affect order routing.
Hit Save to store the credentials.
Authenticate with Zerodha
- On the Zerodha account screen in Āagman, click Authenticate.
- You'll be redirected to the Zerodha login page. Sign in with your Zerodha credentials.
- When prompted, authorize Āagman to access your account.
How do I pair the Āagman Relay?
Install the Āagman Relay Chrome extension, sign in with the same account, and click Pair in the platform.
The Āagman Relay is a Chrome extension that lets Āagman communicate with your broker through your local machine. It routes orders out to Zerodha and relays responses back to Āagman. The relay must be installed and paired before you can place live orders.
Install the Relay extension
Install the Āagman Relay from the Chrome Web Store.
Get Āagman Relay ↗Once installed, you'll see the Āagman Relay icon in your Chrome toolbar.
Pair the extension with Āagman
- In Āagman, go to Settings→Relay Agent.
- Click Install and Pair.
- Click Pair the Extension.
- When Chrome prompts, authorize the requested permissions.
- Wait a few seconds for the handshake to complete.
Troubleshooting
If something doesn't work end-to-end, double-check the following.
- Redirect URL match. The Redirect URL in your Kite app should match the one shown in Settings→Broker Account in Āagman, character-for-character.
- Relay enabled and paired. The Āagman Relay extension is enabled in Chrome and shows as paired in Settings→Relay Agent.
